Fausko Skysstasjon is an old coaching inn and farm.
Fausko can accommodate up to 50 persons in five different traditional houses, including three ”stabbur”.  Fausko is perfect for different gatherings, like weddings and corporate events.

Possible with self-catering. Extra accommodation available at neighbouring farms by request.

Gildehallen, the Banquet Hall

The coaching Inn at Fausko was established in the 1870s. It was an important stop-over for travellers between east and west in Norway. In those days the journey over the mountains from Oslo to Bergen took 10 days!
The local farmers, both then and now, present travellers with the best of the local food such as grouse and reindeer.
In Gildehallen, the Banquet Hall at Fausko Skysstasjon (for up to 60 persons), we serve three or five course meals, so-called ”Mountain Gourmet Menus” with Italian wines.

Eat in Middle Age settings at Årestugu

Welcome to an evening with good food and surroundings that make you feel how our ancestors once lived.
Årestugu has been a popular place since opening in 1995. The traditional timber building is without windows, but with an open cosy fire and good facilities (for up to 60 persons).

Rakafiskloftet – new 2010

”like eating out in the open”.. said the first guest ..
This loft or build-in gallery is dedicated to eating rakafisk, half-fermented trout, a local speciality, or other feasts (for up to 40 people).
Rakafiskloftet is in the ”Stabbur”, an old traditional Norwegian storage house, from the 1700s. The house is newly renovated and opened for guests in 2010.

Local culture and music

The owner of Fausko Skysstasjon, Knut Fausko, is a folk musician playing the hardingfele, the Hardanger fiddle.
Knut gives presentations of the local folk music, playing the fiddle alone or together with other musicians.
Everyone should hear the dramatic story and air ”Fantitullen” told and preformed by Knut.

Hiking to Ranastongi at 1900 m.

The best panorama in Norway.
The hiking trip starts at Vabuleino, and it takes 2-3 hours to get up to Ranastongi. From the top there’s a magnificent view over great parts of Southern Norway. From Sogn and the Jostedal glacier in the West, Jotunheimen and Rondane in the North, towards the Oslo area in the East and Gaustatoppen and Hallingskarvet in the South. It is an amazing hiking trip.

Drivstugu – modern conference facilities

Drivstugu has modern conference facilities (200 m²). In contrast to the rural and traditional setting at Fausko, Drivistugu gives you excellent facilities for business meetings and corporate events.
