Sognefjorden offers attractions such as the Flåmsbanen, cruise on the Nærøyfjord and Borgund Stave Church and they are only an one to two hour drive from Hemsedal.
Hemsedal-Borgund: 60 km, ca 1 hour
Hemsedal-Lærdal: 70 km, ca 1 hour 10 min
Hemsedal-Flåm: 115 km, ca 2 hours
Sognefjord Cruise
Join a beautiful cruise on the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord. Sognefjorden Cruise has daily cruises with the boat Lykkeper. The tour starts from Flåm and goes via Underdal to Gudvangen. Back to Flåm from Gudvangen you take a corresponding bus, which is included in the ticket price.
During the boat trip you can enjoy spectacular nature, try fishing and taste one of the best waffles in the world.
Schedule
Guests from Hemsedal normally takes the cruise from Flåm at 13.30 and returns by bus back to Flåm at 16.00.

Flåmsbana
Flåmsbana is the 4th most visited attraction in Norway, and that is not without reason. The 20 km long railway was finished, as it is today, in 1943 and is one of the steepest railway lines in the world on normal gauge.
Enjoy some of Norways most magnificent and wild scenery on this 2 hour long train journey.

Hemsedal Tourist Office sell rafting trips for two different companies located in Dagali (ca 1,5-2 hour drive from Hemsedal).

Serious Fun
We offer the real rafting experience in Dagali at the river Numedalslågen. The trips are adjusted after the customers wishes, fun family tours to real action for the adrenalin junkies. Try duckies, these are mini rafts, suitable for all rafting trips.

Hallingdal has two fun zoos, the bearpark at Flå and the wolfpark at Langedrag.
From Hemsedal it takes approx. 1,5 hour to drive to the parks.
The Bearpark in Flå
Visit the bears in Flå. Here you can feed the moose, pet rabbits and mini pig and try fun activities such as the obstacle trail and climbing. New 2010: see the five qute baby bears that were born January 11th!

Gordarike Family park
In the park Gordarike you are right in the middle of the Hallingdal history with tracks from the Viking Age and the Medieval Ages. Attractons such as Gol Stave Church with exhibitions, The grave of King Hadding, the Viking village, Santa's house, and the Hahaug trolls cave, zipline, shoot with bows and arrows and more. Fjell and Fjord
Experience mountains and fjords through Hallingdal in the east to Sogn and Hardanger in the west!
The Fjell and Fjord road offers many fun activities and beautiful scenery for the whole family.
In Hallingdal you can visit museums to learn about how the Norwegians used to live in the past, visit the bears in Flå and wolfs at Langedrag, try fun activities such as canoeing, rafting and climbing or hike to the one or several of the many peaks in the area.
Hallingdal is also the perfect base for a day trip to the fjords in Sogn and Hardanger.
