Travelling by car

You can drive to Hemsedal both summer- and winter time.

Especially in summer it is good to go to Hemsedal by your own car, due to less local transportation possibilities.

With your own car you are flexible to explore larger areas of Hemsedal as well as the fjords and Hallingdal.

• The drive from Oslo to Hemsedal takes approx. 3-3.5 hours (220 km).
  
• During winter the roads are salted and cleared of snow. You are not driving over any mountains.
  
• Be aware of moose on the road, particulary between Flå and Hemsedal.

• During winter the roads are salted and cleared of snow.
• You are going over one mountain pass, the Hemsedalsfjellet.
• When the weather is bad it might be a queue over the mountain. For updates on road conditions call 175 or Hemsedal Tourist Office.
