There are 120 km machine-groomed trails through the valleys and forests of Hemsedal, and 90 km marked mountain trails.
Hemsedal offers many beautiful cross country trails.
From most apartments and cabins in the valley you can enter straight onto the groomed valley trails.
Maps with information on tracks can be purchased at the Tourist Office, Sports shops and tourist agencies. Always bring a proper map and compass when touring in the high mountains.

Trails in the valley and at Gravset are machine-groomed every day. Trails in the mountains are marked.
There are 120 km groomed tracks in the valley and wood, and 90 km marked mountain tracks.
All tracks are connected.
One can go from Storevatnet to Bjøberg about 60 km one way. One can also follow the ski lift in Hemsedal Ski Center and the Solheisen to come up to the mountain slopes.

Gravset is the largest destination site for cross country. Here you'll find a large parking lot (park. kr 40,-), toilet and a good starting point for various circular tracks in different difficulty levels and lengths: classic, skating track and floodlit.

The cafes are open Saturdays and Sundays throughout the season an daily during Christmas/New Year and Easter.
1. Do not go out on a long trip with no training.

3. Show respect for the weather and weather forecasts.
4. Be prepared for bad weather and cold, even on short trips. Always carry the necessary equipment mountain requires.
5. Listen to experienced hikers.
6. Use the map and compass.
7. Do not go alone.
8. Turn in time - there is no shame to turn back.
9. Save your strength and dig down in time.
